- Q: What is to be expected at the practices/games?
A: At each location players are divided into teams of 8-12 players that they will play with though the season. Each team has an assigned volunteer coach and assistant coach. The practice typically begins with warm-ups and proceeds into drills presented in the form of games or activities such as tag or follow the leader. The goal is to maximize each players time on the ball. The second half of the practice is small sided games 5 vs. 5 or 7 vs. 7 between the teams of the same age at the same location. With the introduction of Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) this format will be changing slightly.
- Q: Do Parents/Guardians need to attend the practice?
A: Yes, players 13 and under must have a guardian in attendance at all times.
- Q: Do we play in the rain?
A: U3 and U5 will not play in the rain. U7 and up will play in all weather conditions except when safety becomes a concern.
- Q: What is my Access Code?
A: The access code is your link to your player registration data so that it can be retrieved in future years and does not have to be re-entered year after year. On the registration forms it will ask "Are you a returning Player?". This question should read "Is this your first online registration?". If it is your first year registering online then select "No" to the returning player question and enter your registration details as a new player. When you are complete you access code will be emailed to you for next year. If you had previously registered online but do not have your access code you can request it by following the "Whats my access code?" link. If this does not work you can contact us and we can email your access code to you.
- Q: Can my child play in a different age group?
A: The OSA Rules state
(e) Player movement within the same club, subject to compliance with the OSA Published Rules, shall be permitted from a lower level team to a higher level team. No player shall be permitted to play down.
At NDUSC we always recommend a child plays at their age level. If a parent feels strongly that their child can play up safely at an older age level then this request can be accomodated. As per the OSA rules NDUSC does not allow any player to play down at a lower age level.
